Alice Sainsbury / TAO
Alice Sainsbury: Consultant, guide, and somatic ecologist working at the intersection of inclusive design and regenerative healing in nature — UK
Services: Brand Voice & Tone / Website Copy / Direction & Development
A long-term creative collaboration spanning brand voice, copywriting, and creative consultancy across multiple strands of Alice's practice. My work with her has included developing the language and identity of TAO, her somatic clothing brand; The Path Unknown Podcast; and her own evolving portfolio of consultancy, advocacy, and retreat work.
Over four years, the work has involved sustained attention to a body of practice that resists easy categorisation, finding language that could hold the depth and specificity of Alice's lived experience and philosophical framework while remaining open, accessible, and genuinely inviting to the communities she serves.
“Through her multidisciplinary work, Alice cultivates new narratives that interweave sustainability and inclusivity as inseparable parts of a one whole. Her symbiotic approach places people, ecology, and accessibility at the forefront of contemporary ecosystems – embodying cycles of growth, balance and reciprocity.
“Just as ecosystems support diverse lifeforms and adapt to sustain themselves, we need to prioritise authentic collaboration and interconnected, regenerative approaches within inner and outer cultures for genuine societal progress.”
From adaptive design to community advocacy, university lecturing to inclusive pilgrimages and retreats, Alice’s work opens pathways of connection for every-body, advocating for increasingly accessible and inclusive apparel, environments and experiences for all.”
“The Art Of Moving In Harmony With Ourselves & Nature
Through modalities of movement, conversation + slow ethical clothing, TAO centres around the idea that what we wear is not a separation but an extension of self.”
“Navigating a path unknown is life changing, and is often the biggest call to a return to ourselves and truth.
Through experiences of recovery, walking became Ali’s daily purpose, and a metaphor for regaining independence and freedom. This experience has given way to a curiosity for truth and connection in a society so conditioned by ableist, capitalist, dogmatic narratives and expectations.
Knowing that our health and the health of our environment are so deeply and intrinsically interconnected, this pilgrimage became the right time and place to question ‘what happens when we are not well?’. When you are set on a path of true uncertainty and the true unknown, you may enter into a place where true adventure begins.
This is the exploration of The Path Unknown podcast — opening up conversations around the interconnectedness between our bodies, self and the natural world.”
“Fostering new narratives for a truly accessible and regenerative world.”
